My daughter played against the great George the Messiah. A true New Yorker, friendly to the bone. His sense of humor and skill matched his pure heart. She learned a lot from an older Greek guy that used to drive a cab. This court has history for seeing talent come to work. We came on a school holiday not expecting to see much but instead she got a lifetime of experience and some laughs. The neighborhood people all played a roll. Courts are a bit dirty and the surrounding is much to look at. Its the people that bring it life. Hoops and paint are in great shape, with one full court and one half court.

One of the most respected basketball courts in the city! You will often find yourself glued to the fence after getting off the train station or simply walking by. If you play then spectators will always watch so bring your A game! Sometimes you can also catch youth or adult tournaments.

Been walking by these courts since the late 90s. Times have changed, so has the game. Some say for the worst, I say: every generation says the same thing. Move on young man. Move on.

Super cool park located by the subway! Kind of small but perfect at the same time to have a basketball game or handball game. We just sat and watched the scenery! It was a lot to take in!

West 4th Streets has officially become my new favorite basketball court in NYC. The energy and vibes here are unmatched, and you never know who might step on the court. I was fortunate enough to play alongside George “The Messiah,” a local legend in the New York basketball scene. What makes this spot even more special is its connection to my Fridays. I stop by to play after attending prayers at ICNYU. It has become a weekly tradition, blending faith, community, and my love for the game. Highly recommend this court to anyone looking for a dynamic basketball experience!
