Toss and Spin is WOW! Such an incredible experience from start to finish. Their vibe is fresh, fun, and super professional. The tennis class was a total hit — fun, dynamic, and great for all levels. And Diego? He’s simply the best! An amazing coach with great energy, patience, and style. Can’t wait to do it again. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a cool and chic way to play tennis in the city!

I’m writing this review not as a customer, but as Ian’s son, and as someone who’s been shaped by his coaching my entire life. My dad is Australian - grew up playing tennis and rugby. When he came to America, he didn’t know baseball, football, or soccer. But he learned them anyway so he could coach me. While working full-time and supporting our family, he taught himself sports he’d never played just so he could show me. He coached me onto all-star teams, helped me earn MVPs, and named as recipient of our school’s most respected sports award, even got me written up in the Chicago Tribune. All from a guy who had to learn these sports from scratch. He always made time for my games. Always showed up, even if he spent all week in Holland or Belarus doing high level marketing. Every natural athletic ability I have traces back to him. The fundamentals, the mental game, the discipline, the love of competition, that all came from Dad. He didn’t just teach me how to play sports; he taught me how to approach life like an athlete. How to show up. How to push through. How to celebrate the process, not just the wins. How to be a team player. Now he’s a cancer survivor at retirement age, finally coaching pickleball, a racquet sport he actually grew up mastering. And he’s pouring that same heart and soul into his students at Toss and Spin. Same dedication, same attention to detail, same genuine care. He doesn’t just go through the motions. He invests in people…I know because I hear his wins/breakthroughs and it makes him so happy. If you get the chance to train with Ian, you’re getting someone who will actually invest in your development. That’s who he is. That’s what he’s always been. Proud to be his son.

I’ve done 8 classes at Toss and Spin so far and thoroughly enjoyed them. I felt it was both fun and great for my tennis development as a beginner. Especially impressed by coaches Diego A and Mayya. Looking forward to more classes!

Paul is a great coach! He takes the time to explain things and creates a calm atmosphere for learning. He is very knowledgeable, and makes sure you understand everything as you are going through. His positive attitude makes his classes fun as well!

Amazing tennis experience at Toss and Spine! I had a great time this weekend — the place is excellent, the atmosphere is friendly, and the courts are in great condition. We really enjoyed it and will definitely come back. Highly recommended!
