The Picklr Thornton

I’m an avid pickleball player and have tried several different facilities throughout the Denver area. Without question, the customer service, open play, lessons, and overall atmosphere at Piklr Thornton are the best in the region. What truly sets Piklr Thornton apart starts with the owner, Amber. She consistently makes members feel genuinely welcome and valued. Anyone who plays pickleball knows that many facilities struggle with unnecessary “drama,” and I can honestly say that has not been my experience at Piklr Thornton. The environment is positive, respectful, and well run. The staff is always helpful and goes out of their way to make you feel like you matter. I’ve also taken private lessons from several coaches, and hands down, Head Pro Gabriel is the best instructor I’ve ever worked with. His attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to clearly communicate technique have led to major improvements in my game. On top of all that, the facility itself is outstanding—clean, well organized, and designed for a great playing experience. Piklr Thornton is easily the best pickleball facility in the Denver area, and I highly recommend it to players of all levels.

I had the chance to play with JC today at The PICKLR in Thornton, and he was absolutely fantastic. He was gracious throughout our games and offered several helpful tips that immediately made a difference in my play. JC has a fun, upbeat demeanor and an easygoing coaching style that really resonated with me. What stood out most was how genuinely invested he was in helping me improve. He’s extremely knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging—never pushy, always supportive. JC has a great eye for identifying small adjustments that lead to big improvements, and he explains things in a way that’s easy to understand and apply. He’s not only a skilled coach but also a genuinely kind person, and I truly appreciated his willingness to take the time to help me out. I highly recommend JC to any player looking to elevate their game, whether you’re just starting out or trying to take the next step in your skill level. You’ll be in great hands.

In just two and a half months at The Piklr Thornton, I am 30lbs down and a much better player. More importantly, I found a community I didn’t know I needed. Managing Long COVID has made breathing difficult for me, especially in the colder months, but this environment keeps me coming back to prioritize my health. I’ve even reached a point where I rarely need my inhaler while playing! The coaching is top-tier across the board. Coach Jake blew me away by remembering my name after only meeting once, even noting how I’d improved a specific shot. Coach Colleen is an incredible instructor who meets you exactly where you are while still challenging you to level up. JC is always there with a friendly word and helpful advice on the court. I can’t wait to work with the other coaches in the coming year. Huge thanks to the other staff members —especially Tom, Amber, Staci and many more —for the warm welcomes each time I arrive, and a special shoutout to Josh, who has been helping me since Day 1. If you're looking for fitness and a true community, this is it.

We had so much fun at the Picklr! We reserved 2 courts and hired pros to play for an hour. They were so fun to play against and were so gracious. Everyone had a great time! Next time we are going to use some of the tech they have on their courts. Lessons are excellent here also. I take lessons from Josh. He has given me a lot of tools to better my game. The two I use the most are technique and strategy. Josh is really skilled at identifying and verbalizing things that I do well and areas of growth. I feel like the lessons are a good workout also. I feel lucky to have found such a good coach.

The Picklr Thornton is hands down the best Picklr in the entire state of Colorado! Owner Amber is an absolute gem—an amazing, kind-hearted human being who builds such a warm and welcoming community that you feel like family the moment you walk in. And Gabe? As a college professor myself, I’ve had my share of instructors, and I can honestly say Gabe is one of the best teachers I’ve ever learned from. Being a great player doesn’t automatically make someone a great coach, but Gabe is on another level—his lessons are clear, engaging, perfectly tailored, and genuinely fun. I can’t thank Gabe and Amber enough for everything they’ve done for me both on and off the court; they’ve made my pickleball journey so much more enjoyable and helped me grow as a player in ways I never expected. If you’re anywhere near the Denver area, make Thornton your home court—you won’t find better coaching, better vibes, or a better overall experience anywhere else in Colorado! 🏓❤️
