This facility is top notch. Not only do they have the latest equipment and child care but also the best trainers. Through stength training 2 to 3 times weekly my trainer, Tia, helped me lower my A1C 6 points in 12 weeks. There are also tons of classes and or small group trainings.

This place is absolutely awesome. Big pool with plenty of room to swim. Big locker rooms. Vending machines have healthy options. The staff is awesome and very helpful. The gym is good and sanitary. The basketball court is good too. Just everything about this place is good. I suggest it.

My sister and I had a very uncomfortable experience at YMCA Speer involving two staff members, Newton Reiff and Hannah. While we were working out, Newton Reiff approached us in a confrontational manner. He was not wearing a YMCA shirt, name tag, or anything identifying him as staff, and he had a backpack on. When we asked for his name, he became visibly upset, refused to provide his last name, and asked, “Is there a problem here?” in a rude tone. He then asked my sister for her first and last name, which felt unnecessary and intimidating. Shortly after, another staff member, Hannah, began staring at us repeatedly while we were working out. She then followed us around the gym until we eventually left. The behavior made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. We pay $100 a month for our membership and expect a safe, respectful environment. Unfortunately, this experience crossed that line, and we will be canceling our membership. It’s not worth being made to feel harassed by staff. I would not recommend this location. We will also be sharing this experience with others who are considering joining a gym.

A lot of great equipment, everything was clean and brand new. They are still getting in some attachments for the cable machine and the pools aren't ready. Overall a great gym! The terrace is great especially when it's cooler outside.

I really enjoy this place and often bring my kids to the Kids Zone , they absolutely love it. The area is clean, well-maintained, and offers plenty of activities to keep them engaged. The pools are also consistently clean, which I truly appreciate. However, I’ve noticed that the rules can vary depending on the day or staff on duty. For example, on some days, floating devices or pool equipment aren’t allowed, even though they were previously permitted. Additionally, while some lifeguards are relaxed and allow my 5-year-old, who is a confident swimmer, to enjoy the water independently, others insist that I stay right next to him, which can be frustrating. Overall, it’s a great place for families, but clearer and more consistent rules would make the experience even better.
