Sherwood Recreation Center

This park is SOOOO COOL! Especially for kids of different ages. There’s multiple swings (although the baby swing is broken right now - if that doesn’t get fixed I’ll update this review accordingly), multiple play areas, outdoor musical instruments, and SO MANY SPOTS FOR CLIMBING especially for bigger kids. There’s a bug field with a walking path. We will definitely be visiting this park more often!

Nice facility with plenty of off street parking. Spacious and good programs for children practicing different sports. The children's park is well built and has a nice circular path for children to run or ride bicycles. Fun place and very convenient for those in the neighborhood.

I was staying in the Women's Shelter there (or at least I tried to) and had to leave in an ambulance twice on two consecutive nights because of the gas fumes coming thru the vents from Ben Nielsen's Automotive #nextdoor. I was having #seizures in there and #IT was an overall negative experience for me. Ion know what the center is like for activities. They really need to shut down that shelter operation there. The staff is ghetto, rude, and abusive, and the homeless people aren't being helped anyway.

This review is only for the playground: awesome playground. It's small but still has a variety of activities for children of many different ages. Pretty clean too. The grass lot adjacent to the playground is also well suited to older kids running around and playing. Deducting a star because there isn't much shade to sit in, so it's not a fun place for really hot summer days.

Filthy odor, they use it as a shelter during hypothermia, I sleep there sometimes; Trust me I have seen worst. The staff is pretty decent: Quite professional to residents on days, They offer housing services and secure check-in( those are the staff members{The Shelter Security}that are pretty rude upon check-in)} They feed Mediterranean style foods and cot style gymnasium bedding. The normal Usage which is a recreation center, is equipped with a medium sized gymnasium, an indoor exercise room, a party room with a full kitchen and 4 public restroom stalls.
