The best open play pickleball community in town — for free!!! Have been coming up to Shaw for years and everyone is the most welcoming. Paddle wheels, balls available, dedicated courts, along with the best playlist— it’s a party every day of the week here.

Excellent pickleball facility with lots of players to play with. Bring a friend or come by yourself. The main open play courts, six of them, are open to play under the lights until 11PM. On a nice evening there are plenty of players until the lights go out. They divide the courts. 3 courts for beginner/intermediate and 3 courts for intermediate/advanced. I’d say all of the players on the advanced court were DUPR 3.5+. Good games. Each set of courts has its own “Gatling gun” paddle holders. Put your paddle in and wait to play. If there are more than 8 paddles in the “gun”, they put up the number 4, which means all 4 players on each court leave when done with their game. If there are less than 8 paddles, the number gets changed to a 2, which means winners stay. It’s easy to get acclimated to the games/courts, and everyone was really friendly. I’d say, the night I played, most players were teens, 20’s and 30’s. If you’re in the area, and are looking for a game, Shaw Park is a pickleball Mecca. Give it a try.

This place was hoping! I went with some friends that were playing pickleball. I took my dog to walk around. Everyone was pleasant

If you are relatively new to pickleball, Shaw Park is the best thing going. You can grab your paddle and go down there pretty much any time of day and enjoy open play. Although the courts are divided into advanced intermediate and a beginner, this is rarely followed by the beginners that play there. This can be frustrating. If you think pickleball is a sport for old people, you're in for surprise as the majority of players at Shaw are under 30 years old. With young players, you get lots of bangers, so be ready. They have paddle wheels to organize play, and it is followed quite well by everyone.

Place to come in and play. Join Shawsome community and always Open play in the evenings. The coolest people to play with and have fun. We have 8 dedicated courts. 2 down below and 6 together. 3 beginners and 3 advanced intermediate. Come and play at your own level. If in doubt come evening after 5 someone will be there for sure.
