Santa Clara Point

Santa Clara Recreation Center is a great place for locals and visitors alike. It is the San Diego City sponsored rec center for the Mission Beach Community and others. Located at Santa Clara point in the heart or something the center has basketball courts tennis courts a softball field and is surrounded by beautiful Mission day. In addition inside of the rec center there are activities and a weight room as well as meeting room. The view is of course outstanding there is also a parking lot but especially on the weekends or in the summer you better get here early. The sandy beaches of Mission Bay and the separate little coves make for a great place for stand up paddle boarding and other water activities. Santa Clara Rec is a huge asset to Mission Beach.

Nice place, this time around the lagoon had more water. We stayed under a palm tree, near the restroom area, so it was cooler than the 90° Heat. Had a few beers, hide your sh$#t. Cool spot with grassy area.

Beautiful nook, parking can get pretty crowded during the holidays I assume since that's when I went. Very beautiful sunset view with the homes. Hope to go paddle boarding there in the near future.

We went to Mission Bay Aquatic Center for a Paddle boarding class... amazing!
