Reta Huskey Park

This park has a lot of open areas for children to play games that take a lot of space. It was dedicated to a lady that always wanted to give back to her community. There used to be to be a large ditch there that her son use to hunt ducks there. Now most of the drainage is underground and there are concrete areas that have locked grates on the top to keep people from falling into this area because it would a way to easily perish because the water is pretty swift. There is a smaller playground area and a pickel ball game court here as well.

Great park for younger kids. Condensed playground close to the restrooms. Large field for running and playing. Dog friendly. The pickle ball courts also look nice.

25 years ago, around 2000, I spent alot of time with a best friend named Leonard Huskey, right here on his land. He owned 82 acres of prime farm ground where he grew hay, leased land that surrounded his homestead. His home burned down and he refused to sell land to a developer to see homes take away the peaceful space. There were many memories of his sisters and family here. He eventually agreed to sell out, provided a park be placed here in honor of his sisters. There are tennis courts, or handball courts, permanent exercise sets, swings, jungle gym, bars to swing and climb and pathways all around to cycle or ride skateboards on a stick(scooters). Reta Huskey Park today is full of family love, children playing and learning, mothers sharing, there is joy here. I know how thrilled he would be to see this property claimed and used for such beautiful family moments.
