Papillion Landing Community Recreation Center

This is a great place to play Pickle Ball. Monday through Friday 8:00 am to noon is open play and you can drop in. they usually have 5 courts going at a time. You don’t have to be a member. All you need to do is pay for a day pass and you can play as long as you want.

We really love the landing. Everything about it. The facility is clean, well staffed, and has many offerings. We go there, not only for the gym, but also for library and community events. The pool is great too! My kids love the splash area and definitely the slide!

I've always had a pleasant experience at PL but today was unbelievable. Our kids were practicing volleyball a few minutes before the official practice and were kicked off the empty court by an employee. She said it was for members only. Are you kidding? We pay for the kids to play sports. It's not like we're random stragglers. The court was also empty. It still is as I'm posting this. That seems so greedy and so wrong. No one asked for the court was denied. Just wonderful kids playing together and bettering each other. No rowdy behavior. No misbehaving of any kind. I was considering a membership. I've decided to steer clear.

Nice building but ... The weight training area regularly has equipment that is out of order, and the front desk can't tell you when it will be fixed. Several pieces of equipment wrapped in black tape to cover cracks in the pads. At least two times I've gone recently when the elevator is out of order (I have an impairment that keeps me from climbing the 15+ steps to the second floor facilities). Seems to me that Papillion spent all their money to build the site, and saved no budget for normal maintenance. Probably a good place for healthy, fit people, but not so much for folks trying to get there.

My 13 year old grandson and a friend went to play basketball last night. They gave a nice man their two passes and then they played for awhile They went outside to meet another friend and when they came back the nice man was gone and a mean girl was there. She accused the boys of lying about the passes told them she was calling the police and to leave. I called and the girl would not give me her name after I asked multiple times. Then her supervisor came on the phone and wouldn’t give me her name either. I have never in my 75 years heard a desk person refuse to give their name! And made light of the whole incident! My grandson’s mother came and at the end was offered 5 passes to make up for it! But because of their treatment my grandson nor his friends want to go there again! Those workers should be cleaning the toilets not serving the public. I feel so bad for my grandson and his family and his friend’s families to be treated so badly.They have to drive a long way to get the boys there and then back again to ruin everyone’s evening. So wrong to hire bullies.
