I was waiting for a nearby biz to open, so I got a short morning walk in and Mother Waldron Park was along the way. Mother Waldron was a teacher at the former Pohukaina School which stood nearby. She was also credited with her volunteer work in the area, thus having the park named after her in 1937, a year after her death. The park is about half of a city block, with a central building that houses restrooms, sports basketball & pickleball courts, a small playground, swaths of grassy areas, a few benches, tables and mature trees. Patrons seemed a bit shady so I kept my distance.

All along this st there is some really Cool art!!! Here and there you'll see different food trucks parked along this park dependingon the day. Its more of an open feild, nice to come play soccer or volleyball, different little shops around the area, def reccomend!

MWN park is your typical playground. It has a decent equipment setup. The bathrooms are always closed. I assume that’s because the homeless set up camp in the park area so the city probably keeps them locked up to avoid the liability. There’s two basketball courts. Lots of awesome street art on the buildings to look at while your children play. They also have two convenient water fountains on the premises of the playground. Street side parking is available. There’s also plenty of seething available for the parents.

Dangerous park. Homeless and drug use. People fighting. Something needs to be done. Lock up the restrooms at night.

Nice and clean now since the homeless are gone. Nice to see family and children at the park. Social distancing and masks are used of course!
