MLK Park Pickleball Courts

There are 10 courts and they're pretty nice with easy parking, but the people can be quite rude, aggro, or even racist. Heaven forbid you get here during busy times as some players here play as if their life depends on it. Because of the layout of the doors and the construction now, sometimes you have to walk by other courts to get in, but players can get quite pissy about it - even if you wait until play has stopped to walk through, they'll just start serving and playing and harass you even though you have no choice to get through to the open courts on the other side. I generally prefer to come with a group of 4 to avoid the aggro/rude players and then it's much better. The 6 newer courts with the higher fence are the worst, and many more casual regulars will prefer to play on the 4 original courts with the low fence because people are definitely more chill and friendly there.

Courts are in good shape and there’s usually people of all levels available to play. The courts have a paddle holder to keep track and cycle through when lots of people are waiting.

Great courts but the community is very hit or miss. I’ve had many great days here and many days I swore I’d never go back. The layout of the doors with the slider during busy times is in a terrible place on the small court side. Folks don’t rotate and often tell you they don’t care when you make sure they see someone is waiting.

While visiting town, i found this place to play pickleball. I had the opportunity to play twice from 8am to 10am (tue and thu). I was welcomed and allowed to play several times even when I lost a game. There are 4 dedicates courts and 6-8 mobile.

Looks like a good group, social, morning til afternoon, then evenings I’m told are upper levels… we will see n know more tomorrow… dedicated courts
