I came to this facility so that my 7 year old granddaughter could practice basketball. Because of her height, I asked Kay, the manager if she would lower the hoop she outright said no. Her reason was that the adults would come in and she would have to raise the hoop back up. I contact Park and Rec main office and they told me that she needs to lower the hoop. The main Office contacted her and while I was on hold, Kay came in the basketball court with an attitude and looked around, grabbed a big tubber ball and was about to say something to one of my grandkids but refrained and left. Not all City and County employees behave this way.

I never leave Google reviews, but I heard about something really disturbing that happened today. I was at a rec center class doing yoga, and a woman walked in to charge her phone in the room behind us. I was just getting home when I saw her walking down church street and she was sobbing. I asked her if she was okay. My husband and I are from California, and couldn't believe what she told us. She said that after she moved to a different area to charge her phone because an employee made her uncomfortable asking her to wear a shirt instead of a sports bra, he then accosted her. She was black and said the employee that was being abusive was black. For charging her phone, at a public and family friendly rec center, she said he told her the police were outside waiting for her. And then told her he already called the police on her. She grabbed her stuff and left, and he followed her onto the sidewalk taking photos of her with flash on repeating "don't come back here" over and over. To a young black woman, who was charging her phone. I come to this rec center often, I've never seen anyone have a problem using the outlets. And this woman said she was given permission to charge, and left after he made her uncomfortable. Who is anyone, to tell someone wearing a sports bra at the park, to put on a shirt? I'm white and from marin county. I've never been asked to put on a shirt while jogging. She said he asked if she could "do her a favor". I told her I was so sorry for her experience and she was distraught so left quickly. My husband and I decided to take action by telling our friends and neighbors, about this hate crime. No one should be threatened with police for charging their phone at the park. We won't ever be back, please. It isn't safe. She said she was crying because she felt scared he was going to hit her. And told him he was being scary. No one deserves this. Please, boycott this business.
