La Mesita Park

Nice little park to play sports, picnicking, birthdays, and exercising. We celebrated my granddaughter’s first birthday her. Parking was a bit of a chore as it was Saturday and there were plenty of parties and get togethers. My daughter in law got a reservation for her selected picnic location months in advance, so proper planning is essential. There a pickleball and tennis courts nearby, as well as playgrounds. Nice location. Also, this park has been around for ages, so not only did my granddaughter have her party here, but this was the place where her mother before her had her birthday party decades earlier. Kinda nostalgic.

The pickleball courts (8) here are great and the wait for Open Play is not too long. Players here are really friendly. There's a playground for young children to play and a huge grass area for big gatherings. The parking lot can fill up quickly if you come late midday.

Wonderful family park. Today was a beautiful day to celebrate with friends. Even though this was a last minute picnic, we were still able to secure 2 bench areas with enough trash receptacles and recycling bins. There's plenty of shared areas and room for games.

Pickleball courts are great. It may be a bit crowded but if you have time to wait, you will be able to get at least a few games in. You may go play solo or with a partner. Courts are clean and well lit at night.

Playground: Newer structures, one structure for younger kids and one for older kids. The flooring is tanbark and rubber. There was plenty of shade from large mature trees in the morning. A few benches to sit on. Some pieces of equipment were not available to play on which was disappointing (only one child swing, etc). Bathrooms: A bathroom structure is by the parking lot. Parking: Free parking lot. Location: This is in a medium sized park that is adjacent to the freeway. I wouldn’t come during high traffic times to avoid breathing in excess pollution. Safety: No unhoused, no trash, and many adults exercising or walking dogs. *Updated 1 year later* Swings are all added, and gym equipment was added right next to the playground.
