Krannert Park

Im amazed they up dated this place but didn't re- cover the floor of the basketball court which has had they same slip and break your neck tile since I was 20 years old !! Damn near 30 years!! New weight lifting are is very nice for the price but very limited on machines. Still better then the old weight room and super cheap.

I went here on Juneteenth of 2024 after googling "Places To Fish In Indianapolis"...When I pulled up it was 8am and I seen people fishing all around the pond, It kind of reminded me of a pay lake..People with 2 to 3 poles I was thinking I might have found my new fishing spot however after 4 hours and not a bite or nibble I decided to give up...Nobody on the water had any luck the whole time I was out there....The grounds were very clean but I did enjoy the scenery..

Update Jan. 2023 - The building is still closed, because it is being renovated. The grounds are open Dawn to Dusk. // Pretty lake, picnic shelters, playground & pools. Apparently the grounds have expanded on the North side of the park. It makes for a longer walk around the park.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I only took a few photos of the outside, and not by the pool because of the children swimming. It's a relaxing atmosphere overall.

I have a special love for this park since I've gone to it since I was a kid. It's a bit worn down and people tend not to pick up after themselves but it have a lot of great qualities to it. Has a park, two little hiking trails, and plenty of areas on the lake go fish.
