King Greenleaf Recreation Center

What a day! Today was the Annual Southwest Neighborhood Garden fest. Agencies throughout the District participated to share their programs and services that they provide. UPO participated by distributing 100 bags of fresh produce, food items, household supplies, PPE items, clothing and assisted residents with on-site applications for rental and utility assistance. We also assited residents in completing referral forms to receive other UPO programs and services such as job training, employment, child care, volunteer services and etc.

The splash park is the highlight of my little boys day whenever we go to the rec! It is always nice and clean! Oh, during our last time there, I loved it when the DPR Employee checked the attitude of a young man misbehaving on the playground! I am a believer in the saying, "It takes a village!" We need to see more people like her!

1st time at the water park and she loved it. I was nervous about the neighborhood to be honest but all the families that stop in were so nice. With the temps being as high as they are we'll definitely be back.

Poor communications..... I called the center on Friday and questioned about an event on Saturday. I spoke to somebody name Coach. He told me to call back in 15 minutes and ask for Coach. I called for the next three hours and nobody picked up the phone. I called on Saturday morning from 10 am - 2 pm.Nobody answered the phone. I hope we are not going back to the days when people say... "It's good enough for government work".
