Edgewood Recreation Center

The field is amazing! I really love the rooftop garden and splash center for the little ones. It’s a nice facility. It just needs a little more attention to the small things. The bathroom can get a little out of control during the summer because our beautiful children are everywhere and I imagine it can be hard to keep up. However, the machines being out of service more than four months is simply unacceptable. If the parts are no longer available, replace the machines or move them out and provide more floor space. I do appreciate the staff as they clearly work hard at keeping the use of what machines are available fair. Not to mention, they keep reminding people not to sit on the machine while scrolling on their phones and reminding them not to drop the weights as if we are at “hard core” gym where it seems everyone grunts.

Edgewood Recreation Center is a newly-renovated recreations center in Northeast's Edgewood neighborhood. Here's why it's worth a visit: 1) Amenities: There's a lot to do inside and outside. On the outside, there's a massive field, a track, playground, a garden and basketball courts. Pre-pandemic, the inside has a gym, classrooms, etc. 2) Views: There's an area with benches with beautiful views of nearby Trinity Washington University. This recreation is new and super nice. It's worth a visit!

Great field with a track, tennis and basketball courts. Also an open area with workout equipment. Decent, modern playground on the small side.

Good playground for the kids in the area. There are also tennis courts and a football field.

I liked it even though, I have seen some confusion over there several times. But the last pleasant experience I had was my son forgot his backpack on their field overnight. He was able to come get it the next day with no issues, the staff grabbed it off the field and when we picked it up nothing was missing so we were happy.
