North Kansas City YMCA

I think Faith needed a snickers. This is a Fantastic facility. It's the largest Y I've ever known with a great variety of machines and equipment. As others have stated some new equipment has been employed. It gets busy of course but there is ample space with a little bit of common courtesy for everyone to get where they need to. The pool is massive with sectioned areas for more competitive swimmers and casual swimmers alike. It even has a small lazy river type section that creates a gentle current. I stumbled across a water yoga class one day and joined in as best I could not knowing much about the various poses and that was a treat. Having a rock climbing wall, huge basketball court, table tennis, dry and wet sauna amongst all the other amenities, I can't think of anything off hand this Y doesn't have. While using the dry sauna you will periodically see the lifeguards do a safety check on everyone which I find reassuring. The staff is generally extremely attentive and accommodating. It gets a lot of traffic and use so it's not going to be perfect all the time but they get damn close. Worth every penny in my humble opinion. Good job fam. I think I'll head on in this morning and burn some of this holiday food excess I've acquired off and have a grounding sauna session. If I could've given six stars I would have!

The facility is clean and the equipment works well. The staff at kids zone are amazing and really care about the kids. I know when I drop them off to go workout, they will be well cared for. Pool is decent as well. My favorite amenity is the steam room.

Recently joined and it’s a great place to train. All the weights and machines you need for lifting. A 1/10th mile indoor track and tons of cardio machines/treadmills. The staff are the nicest folks around too!

This YMCA is an extremely large and well-equipped facility with a ton of great perks. The rock-climbing wall is a fun feature, and the indoor pool is massive, complete with dedicated swimming lanes and a separate play area. The gym floor is what really stands out—there are so many options and an abundance of clean, well-maintained machines. They provide sanitizer and washcloths, making it easy to wipe down equipment. The huge indoor track and the enormous basketball court round out the offerings perfectly.

Great establishment , clean, friendly , and volunteer events are always a delight. Zumba class is always a fun way to exercise. Learned about many organizations in kc area who provide services.
