Kalihi Valley District Park

It's a big wide open area full of fun and history!

This was a really nice Park with a great huge pool and lots of space. We had a PAL basketball game there and enjoyed the location and the quality of the gym. Parking was easy next to the police station. I didn't try the pool but it looked awesome. I only gave it 4 stars bc I didn't use the rest of the park.

This city recreation center is a "well kept secret" hidden from view off the road and sharing a parking lot with the Kalihi Police Station. I am taking a Dahn yoga class (focus on body and brain awareness). It's an open enrollment small class that is definitely helping my flexibility, awareness of how my body reacts to different exercise, and some great teaching points for getting in touch with energy flow. May is a patient instructor who answers all our questions with great patience. I followed with water exercise laps in the pool. Friendly lifeguards and no crowding in the pool as experienced at some of the other large district pools. I would rate 5 stars except for the obvious need for updating and repairs so dependent on the city budget and priorities.

Lights have been fixed (maybe 08/2022). Courts have graffiti and are cracked, but crevices are not as bad as Ala Moana. It would be nice for the practice court to also have lights.

Good for walk and run because there no one around and the best part it next to police station make me feel safe
