We visit this park twice a day with our dog and love it! It is a beautiful park with a huge variety of tree species and there is more "grass" than most places in Tucson. Several different bird species adventure here, I saw my first roadrunner here one morning. The other dogs and owners that come to this park are all pretty wonderful! This park has a big playground and is very kid friendly! It is pretty clean and upkept and full of good energy and we like to keep it that way! We have folks practicing Thai Chi, folks dancing on Sunday mornings, kids playing soccer, adults playing ultimate Frisbee, tennis and pickle ball, folks sunbathing with their tortoises, bicycle riders, families and friends gathering under the large awning next to the basketball hoops, couples, individuals and large parties.

Attended event in ramada #2, which is HUGE! No driving or vehicles allowed on park grounds but parking for food trucks was reasonably close (closer than the restrooms) and there was a really nice area for vendor booths. Great park, no street noise.

Nice local park with tennis courts, basketball nets, baseball fields, picnic tables and several playgrounds with awesome slides, swings and climbing structures. Parking may get crowded but I’ve been able to find a spot each time. Lots of trash bins as well, but no recycling bins. Popular with dog walkers.

Himmel Park and Library is under some construction and there’s a bit of dust around but the park is open. There are lots of places to play tennis, pickleball and other sports. Many small groups use the grass area for yoga, tai chi, dancing and other activities. It’s clean and well kept. The restrooms are barely okay and need an upgrade.

Courts are new and well maintained, lighted after dark, unlocked until 9pm. Pickleball: $5 for seniors, $6 for adults, and I believe $10 to reserve a court. Tennis courts cost less, hours are posted and court time is 1.5 hrs.
