w place its just that the fields flood to easy other than that its good.In 2026, the Howard M. Terpenning (HMT) Recreation Complex remains the definitive "crown jewel" of the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD). Spanning 92 sprawling acres in Beaverton, it is a world-class multi-sport destination that manages to feel both high-energy and meticulously maintained. A Paradise for Field Sports For soccer, football, and lacrosse players, the field selection is unparalleled. The complex features five multipurpose fields, including premium synthetic turf surfaces that are legendary for their durability and year-round playability. These turf fields are meticulously lined for various sports—including specific markings for both men's and women's lacrosse—ensuring a professional-grade experience for local leagues and youth tournaments alike. Complementing the turf are well-groomed grass fields that offer that classic pitch feel during the drier months. Baseball & Softball Excellence The complex is a premier hub for diamond sports, boasting five softball fields and two dedicated baseball fields. Whether you are playing in a competitive adult league or watching a youth game, the layout is thoughtfully designed with spectator viewing areas and covered play areas nearby, making it incredibly family-friendly. Beyond the Grass: World-Class Amenities What sets Terpenning apart is that the fields are just the beginning: The Babette Horenstein Tennis Center: A massive 15-court facility featuring six indoor courts and eight outdoor courts that are covered for year-round use. It has even hosted international events like the Davis Cup. Aquatic Center: A massive 50-meter Olympic-sized indoor pool that hosts everything from synchronized swimming to lap swim and competitive meets. Action Sports: The site features two distinct skate parks—one designed specifically for beginners—and a dedicated outdoor roller hockey rink. Indoor Athletics: The Athletic Center serves as the hub for indoor hoops, featuring six basketball courts and an indoor running track. Nature & Community For those who aren't there for organized sports, the 10-acre natural area provides a serene escape. A mix of paved and soft-surface trails, including access to the Waterhouse Trail, meanders through wetlands and meadows, making it a perfect spot for a morning jog or a peaceful walk. The Verdict: Five stars. Between the professional-grade turf fields and the sheer variety of indoor and outdoor facilities, the Howard M. Terpenning Complex is a massive asset to the Beaverton community in 2026. They have lots of sports facilities. They have great indoors and outdoors sports for K-12 and adults. But Parking Lots aren’t big enough.

A really nice park. Softball field could use some work with the hidden holes and restrooms needs to be checked daily due to flooding other than that it’s pretty good. Their play ground on the softball side gets two thumbs up.

Beautiful courts and great place to play volleyball, basketball, soccer, etc. But they hired the rudest "Karen" to go around enforcing mask rules with attitude to people. I don't know what her name is but she definitely looks and acts like a Karen. My friends and I were eating peanuts on the bleachers and Karen came by to enforce masks. My friend had just finished chewing her peanuts and Karen was literally standing there ready to tell my friend to wear her mask. My friend said she was about to get on the court. Karen replies "THEN GET ON THE COURT". Like her more rude can you be when we are literally paying good money to be there and enjoy playing volleyball? When you have one employee who is going around with a power trip, playing bad guy with no space for manners, it just ruins the whole vibe for everyone there. This is not the way to enforce masks.
