I signed up for the tennis league, which DC Fray said would have less than 30 players and use 5-6 courts. Unfortunately, that just wasn't true. I went twice and found around 50 players squeezed onto just four courts. I stayed a total of 5-10 minutes because what I found both times was a scene that was overcrowded, chaotic, and unenjoyable. The drills in particular were a problem. On the two courts that ran drills, there were more than 20 players at a time. With so many people, you most of the time was spent waiting in line. This isn't what I signed up for, and it was incredibly frustrating to realize that the league organizers either oversold the program or didn't plan properly for the number of participants. Worse than being unfun, though, the setup felt genuinely unsafe. Within the first five minutes of my first visit, I accidentally hit someone with a forehand because the instructor had people retrieving balls on the opposite side of the net while others were still hitting. That was literally the second ball I hit, and I left after that. If safety and court space aren't taken seriously, it's hard to justify calling this a structured or professional league. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this program in its current state. UPDATE: I saw DC Fray's response, and just want to clarify -- there wasn’t any confusion. I attended twice, and both times there were 40 to 50 players using only four courts. After the first visit, I actually emailed your team with detailed feedback about the overcrowding and safety concerns. We exchanged several messages before I came back the second time, but the same issues were still present, and you issued a (partial) refund when I showed you this photo. I understand that your standard cap may be 30 players, but what I saw and experienced on those two dates clearly exceeded that, which is what my review reflects. Also, I appreciate that you’re trying to present your side, but my comments are based on direct, firsthand experience. I hope future sessions align better with what’s advertised.

There's a reason there are so many 1-star reviews here. I had great experiences for years, but got tricked into signing up for Fray+ with promise of a discounted registration and easy cancellation. I didn't see any social events or benefits of Fray+ in my area, so I finally found the cancellation page online and it said it was processing my cancellation. Well, they didn't, and I got charged $14 the next month. When I emailed about this, they told me if I wanted to cancel it would be ANOTHER $29 and referred me to a site that said there may be a "small fee" for canceling. Another friend said they did the same to him, and another said they charged him for a "charitable donation" he didn't authorize. This is harder to cancel than a gym membership, except at least you get some benefits from a gym. In the end I received no benefits From Fray+ and was charged more than I saved in discounts, along with a ton of heartache. Beware.

Resolved: I played in these leagues a few years ago and it was a great time...would have been a 5 for sure. Lots of great ppl. However, there is no way to contact anyone. I have sent 2 emails, one last week and another the other day wanting to learn more about whether they had an indoor soccer league because they are listed that they do. So I sent an email last week through their listed contact. Then this week I tried calling, they have an answering machine but their inbox is full. So it says leave a brief message and a way to contact after the tone but then the automated message says they are full and it hangs up. So I followed up with an email and still no response. I am disappointed how far they have fallen. Communication and Frustration resolved: Mr. Mitchell was very polite and we were both able to learn from each other. Very grateful for his communication and very happy with the results. I know his team works hard! Thanks for your time, Mitchell!

Great organization and an amazing magazine. We were a guest vendor at one of DC Fray dog friendly (Dog Yoga) events and they we amazing host. The event was staffed well, started on time, and they made sure all guests and vendors had a good time. DC Fray is a class act and I wouldn't hesitate to attend there events or to be a vendors at the next event.

We hired DC Fray to run a company softball game as part of a retreat in DC. They had us playing in beautiful fields down by the Potomac, explained the game and got us going despite only about 7 people having played before! They provided everything from other games, sunblock, water, snacks and a food truck after. They were absolutely superb and we had a memorable fun afternoon and evening! Highly recommend them to run your event.
