A neighborhood treasure of a park, with diverse topography: a level grassy area with playgrounds and picnic tables adjoining Raye St. at 1st Ave. W.; a rolling central plateau leading to three well-appointed tennis courts; a slope leading to 3rd Ave. W. and adjoining athletic field (Queen Anne Bowl); and heavily wooded areas along the north and southwest sides. A place of small children playing, dog walking, active recreation, and quiet enjoyment. Never overly crowded or noisy. The rare homeless person spending daytime or camping out hasn’t detracted from the park. Good habitat for squirrels and rabbits; bird life has included owls from time to time. Occasional coyote sightings, so be aware in the wooded areas. I omitted a 5th star because the park’s natural features need better care by the Seattle Parks Department. The restrooms and play areas are reasonably maintained, but the plantings have been impacted by weather events in the 15 years that I’ve lived in the neighborhood: bare dusty areas where grass has died off and stressed trees that have died or lost major branches.

Not much there. Very steep terrain on the paths so you have to be careful if they are wet at all! Not great for a “pleasant” stroll and it’s tiresome. Didn’t see any benches to sit either. It look bigger on the map since most of the area are tennis, ball, and play areas.

The park is very beautiful, very wooded, with lots of toys for children, nice for walking dogs and enjoying nature.

Large park on the north end of upper Queen Anne hill. Lots of open grassy space. Steep hills. A few swing sets and a children's area on the south side. Tennis courts on the lower North side. No parking lot but lots of free Street parking. 2 public restrooms. Running track / soccer field in the bottom North West corner. No off leash dog area but every time I visit there are people letting their dogs run around.

A very nice little park! Walking paths throughout the green space, a large playground, large sections of grass for playing games or picnicking, and several tennis courts down below! I thoroughly enjoy walking my dog here. If you are at the park about an hour before sunset, make sure to look up! There are a pair of barred owls who live in the park, and they can often be seen in the tall trees around the playground 🦉🌲
