I got a day pass for $10 as an out of towner. There is a small daycare with drop in rates $3/child, the room is suitable for babies-3 or 4 but my six year old felt the toys were too young for him. Basketball court, volleyball court, swimming pool...lots of classes available. The weight room was expansive with lots of dumbbells, a handful of weight racks, dozens of treadmills, ellipticals, stair steppers, bikes etc, and several other weight machines. A 3 lane track surrounds the entire upstairs. Love the drop in option and variety of equipment for a solid workout.

A pleasant pool area for the swim meet we were attending. Plentiful seating on bleachers. This venue has some accessability issues. I can get by with a cane and handle a few steps but I can't see how someone using a chair could even get to the viewing area. They suggested I could stand at pool level so I guess that would be a solution albeit not a good one.

Don't plan on having your birthday party here! The staff should honestly not have parties at this rec center that they think it is a county club. ALL of the staff was too busy staring at their phones to do much except yell at the boys for everything. It was by far the worst experience we have had for a birthday party as they essentially kicked us out of the place and we ate our ice cream cake outside on the bench. News flash 12-13 year old boys like to have fun and yes they can be loud and obnoxious, but there is a way to handle it and this staff a)doesn't want to and b)doesn't know how. It's a shame as the facilities are pretty nice, but I would clean house with the staff if I was in charge.

Updated Review (2025) After several years I am disappointed to share that I plan on cancelling our membership because the leadership here lacks compassion for the community. Let your imaginations run wild and then tell yourself, they don't care because that is the truth. Stay away!!!!! Original Review (2019) My wife suggested joining Common Grounds after I signed up for a Half Ironman Triathlon. I need somewhere to primarily swim laps, but there really is a lot more at Common Grounds than just a pool. I like the option to run on the indoor track and that the it overlooks the weight room and basketball courts. This will be great for bringing the kids to shoot hoops, assuming the courts aren't too crowded for them. I also like the fact that they have a pool table, ping pong, and foosball. I am also looking forward to checking out the spin classes as well as using the weights for cross training outside of the Triathlon disciplines. After my first swim the pool water was clean and clear. The locker room was clean as well. The staff was also friendly. My only concerns as a new member would be: 1. Are my 7 and 8 year old children going to enjoy the basketball courts or will they be too little with big kids running the courts. 2. My 5 year old has to be in the day care area if they are not with an adult. There is a separate charge for this service per visit, although not much. 3. Not much of a concern, but I have always enjoyed racquetball and I didn't look for or see a court. I don't think they have one. Not s huge deal for me but wanted to mention it for those reading this review. Lastly I did see a couple of vending machines but didn't take a closer look. It would be great if they had protein drinks or workout drinks at fair/reasonable prices. Fingers crossed. (See photos for some info) All in all I am excited to start using the membership!

The staff was incredibly rude and disrespectful. We were given little to no real confirming information regarding the party, and the parameters were shaky and not communicated well at all. The staff spent a majority of the time looking down at their cellphones or looking up long enough to take notes (actually writing their grievances down). They had zero positive interactions with my husband and the party goers. At the time they had determined we needed to be out of the room, it was demand that we “get out.” I know that the boys were most likely loud and obnoxious, and in no way are innocent, but I would highly prefer someone who is in charge during a party with children, actually be tolerant of children. The absolute worst part of it all, neither the staff, or anyone a part of the party enjoyed their time at this place, today. I would definitely not recommend this place for any kind of party. They don’t want you there.
