Banneker Recreation Center

The pool has been closed for maintenance at opening time on three separate occasions. That wouldn’t be such a problem if the community were notified ahead of time. This is a shared space—people are arriving by bus, with children, and in the heat. Waiting outside with no information about when the pool will open is frustrating and avoidable. Clear, timely communication is essential so that residents can plan accordingly.

Great COVID testing site. Easy parking. No line! Good spacing between people. Way to go DC with the great testing sites!

Great to get in the lap swim. ☀️😎🏊🏼‍♂️ Lifeguards & staff are kind, patient and friendly! DJ at the pool experience is an awesome “tall” vibe! Lit!🔥 🎧🎤🎶

Really nice big public pool. Free for DC residents; $7 for guests. 4 lap lanes, 2 shallower ends, deep center, and separate fenced-in kiddie pool.

Does anyone know what the winter hours for the gym are? Came here at 1:30pm on a Saturday and saw the gym was closed; but on here it says open 9-4 on Saturday! Any info is appreciated:)
