Balboa Tennis Club

I visited this place for the National tri level tournament. The place is beautiful with a lot of courts to play. The parking lot is narrow and could be challenging. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The courts are maintained well. But watch out the courts are very closer to natural area and you will end up going out the court to get the balls often. You can also reserve the courts at a nominal fee. Great experience at this location.

Tennis is my passion and is one very few are into as a hobby, so it's really nice that there's a whole club here in San Diego, an extremely active one as well. The courts here are well maintained throughout the years. Booking a court is fairly easy using their app but you must be quick and ahead of time because they'll mostly get booked, especially during evenings. Unfortunately, I'm no longer an active member due to some circumstances but Colleen was very helpful to process my request, which I'm very thankful for. I'll continue to come here as a guest on rare occasion.

May be the best tennis club in the country. Inexpensive. Well maintained. A prestigious history.

The place itself is beautiful and the people who work here are generally friendly. That said, membership isn't cheap and it's frustrating to play here because there are no fences or dividers between the courts themselves. In the year or so my wife and I have been playing here we've had: People bring toddlers who wander between courts Distracting "influencers" who are just there to take photos Dogs wandering around the counts Wanna-be pros who bite your head off if a ball takes a wild bounce of the next into their court It's a great facility but it could be improved 100X if the courts were separated so you didn't have to worry about any of that.
